Job Description
Ensure the Company does everything reasonably practicable for each location to be operative and maintained in a manner which poses no foreseeable risk to the health and safety of employees or to damage or other loss to plant and premises arising from work activities.
Responsible for the legal implementation and legal handling in terms of current law concerning safety, health, environment, fire prevention on all methods and operations used by the company.
Conduct regular risk assessments and keep management ahead to take informed decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect workplace including equipment, plant equipment and substances;
- Review effectiveness of health and safety measures;
- Identity potential hazards and risks, examine causes of incidents and intervention actions;
- Inspections of PPE and PPC;
- Inspection of portable electric equipment, hand tools, pressure vessels, gas welding equipment;
- Maintain fire-fighting equipment and ensure that they comply with current policies and country and group regulations;
- Responsible for fire prevention;
- Accident and incident investigations;
- Recommendations, findings, implementations and corrections on all health and safety findings within the workplace;
- Mission Directed Work Teams;
- Daily visual checks on all forklift trucks and correlated equipment, vehicles and utilities;
- Contractor agreements control external contractors/suppliers for safety related aspects;
- Implementation of OHS Act Requirements;
- Present courses on Health and Safety and Environmental Safety;
- Coordinate and conduct safety onboarding, assessments for guests and visitors including suppliers/contractors;
- Complete on daily basis the Impact and Aspect Register as regards to risk issues identified.
Requirements
- Education: BSc in relevant field of study linked to EOSHE;
- Accreditation in Safety Management or a Diploma in Safety Management;
- Experience: minimum of 5 years’ experience preferable in FMCG food and beverage Industry:
- Hazard identification and risk analysis;
- Safety management;
- Accident and incident investigations;
- Environmental and waste management;
- Safety compliance;
